Jasmine A. Smith is a college graduate born on December 25th, 1990. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) and is passionate about social services and community welfare. An ambitious and visionary lady, she is a promising positive force for the world.
Jasmine has experience as a family advocate, adding to her passion for social services and community engagements, she is interested in community-family relations. She has valuable experience in women’s and children’s outreach and family advocacy. From this experience, she strongly believes that a strong society is built on strong family relations. Her choice of advocacy for women and children is especially inspired by the fact that women and children are mostly the victims of weak family relations. Notwithstanding, she believes that all people, men and women are equal in society, a virtue that needs to be reflected in families too.
Jasmine is an entrepreneurial mind and a team player. Her areas of interest in entrepreneurship are in social services and especially in community relationships and engagements. She has worked previously in coordinating community events and facilitating collaboration between businesses based in Northeast Ohio. Team working skills and excellent communication have supported her work in this area. She strongly believes that teamwork and collaboration are essential in any successful community-based program.
Additionally, she enjoys reading and arts. Her love for reading and exemplary leadership were noted and awarded while she was in college. In November 2011, she was voted Ms. Library in college at Southern University of New Orleans. Though she continues her interest in reading privately, she hopes in the future to support children in underprivileged areas to access reading resources. She has especially a heart for children of broken families whose education is often disrupted.
